“Is that Simon? It’s Trapman…Trapman Bermagui. I have a couple of Mako jaws, and I’m wondering whether you can clean them up for me!”
That phone call happened a couple of months ago and caught me by surprise. I knew that he had a huge following on Instagram and Facebook and that he also cleaned all his own jaws. He told me that in this case, he did t have the time.
One of the Mako jaws belonged to the Mako in that famous photo that shows it was bitten by another much bigger shark, and the other Mako jaw had a marlin bill stuck in its throat. The Mako jaws were stunning, and only had a few broken teeth which have now been replaced.
